During the mid November 2019, a "strange" visitor has visited Son Tra peninsular (Da Nang), the records including Brambling (Fringilla montifringilla) which is considered as a vagrant only in the West Tonkin. The presence of this bird has attracted many bird photographers in Vietnam visiting the site to find it. In additional, a rare seen nocturnal species Eurasian Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) has photographed also in Son Tra.

At Cuc Phuong national park, we also recorded the global vulnerable Wood Snipe (Gallinago nemoricola) which its range only known wintering to the West Tonkin.
